Going to be doing studs and gaskets this winter in my LLY since shes started to put some pressure into the cooling system. While the heads are off what else should I plan on doing? I was thinking modified Y bridge, manifolds, and possibly some valve springs. Just want to take care of anything that will be easier with the truck torn down already.

Also curious if I would benefit from one of SoCal's hotstreet/tow cams or if it'd be $900 bucks out the window

My goal for now is to get the most out of a stock motor as possible. Hoping that by increasing the efficiency with the same amount of boost and fuel I can make a bit more power with less stress on the motor. But I know if I keep pushing it I'll need to build it down the road.

save your money for rods, your rods will bend before your heads lift

x2 ive been in your position, I had to fix mine last year. And now im doing a full build. The ONLY reason i tore it apart and thru arp's in was because i was moving and couldnt have the truck down long for a build. With that said its alot of work, (around 31 hours) it took me and a few friends.

The lbz regulator will maintain rail pressure longer at w.o.t and i think it runs at 26.5 whereas the lly reg runs @ 24.5? You got a good game plan going, and some good advise, use stock gaskets, make sure the heads are flat and the valves seat and hold pressure and from what i have heard, dont use an aftermarket cam its a waste of money for anyone not competing, dont kill the messenger guys, that cam info is info thats been shared with me not personal experience
How much money are you wanting to spend? That usually is my deciding factor for what i am going to do.lol
I can think of alot better ways to spend 900-1000 on performance mods than a cam, and it doesn't stop at the cam, you will prob need different push rods, lifters, springs the works if you re cam...

Did a lbz regulator on my Lly pump and it helped alittle. My 5xxrwhp tune will hold around 21-22k usually. Requesting 24,7xx.

I hold rail with 100hp DDP injectors and a 3000us pw. Still holds 25k. I think o got a factory freak pump lol. Just trying to cover my bases while it's easily accessible. And the cam was just a thought. Not many people run then and I'd assume there is a reason for that.

Idk. Thought were like 30-40 overs but they aren't that big. DDP says if you don't retune they add 100hp over stock but don't measure their stuff in %. I only got them because I was in a bind. Exergy 40s at like 2100-2400us would be much better
