LLY: Head resurfacing question

Doing my head gaskets in my Lly and I got my heads back from machine shop today guy said one side he took off .009 and other side is .005... My question is will my grade c gaskets be ok or will I need valve job done

Depends on if he recessed the valves or not.

No he didn't do anything to valves

Take them back. That's part of the job.

They should have adequate sure the valve recess had the same volume. You must have taken them to a shop without experience with the particulars of these engines. Technically, he should have taken the same off each head and machined the intake runner side half as much as the valve side. I know that's not what you are going to get at the run of the mill shop but it does matter.
