Got a truck in today and boss man says truck says low coolant. Overheats and stinks like antifreeze and at the car auction they stated it may have blown head gasket.

So i filled the resavor to see if it was bubbleing and it was bad. You can smell it in the exhaust its sweet smell.

My question is......can it be a bad egr causing this? I dont mess with lly's much

It is possible, but it being a LLY I would definately suspect head gaskets/cracked head. Try bypassing the EGR cooler with some 5/8 fuel line and see if the problem persists.
