Is my only choice for head gaskets OEM?

The block will be bored .020 over. Deck will not be milled. Heads had .006 taken off to clean and flatten. Pistons have just the lip cut off than coated.

Does it matter what my original head gaskets were, i.e. A B C?

Is my only option the bored over thick gasket? No one makes a .020 over C or a little fatter?

Thanks

Matt

The dealer has 5 choices.

Cometic is the only aftermarket head gasket that I know of, Merchant tried them on 9 different trucks and I tried a set on my personal truck and every one leaked water.

So we went back to stock.

Currently I use/recommend the "milled deck, overbore gasket".

Wonder if SCE could do up some of there Titan copper ones with the silicone seal beads on it?

Hussey copper custom made the gaskets for our ARIAS hemi to spec and thickness but theres no bead seal and its a dry block (no cooling, solid alum), dunno if the can do the seal bead or not but if they can, im sure they could cut a d-max head gasket! Sealing up a copper gasket is always an issue so an MLS gasket is prolly best bet, surprised the Cometic ones suck! Fel-Pro has MLS gaskets now too, wonder if they might have a
D-max gasket soon?

They are known for doing the same thing on Buicks. I just threw a couple of GM coolant tablets in and it seals right up. Leaked every time I put them on and stopped every time with a few of those tablets. Don't know if it would work on a D-Max but sounds like its worth a try.
