Ok so i recently have torn into my lly to do the head gaskets in the process i ran into a few issues i found that the gasket failed on the rear cylinder on tha passenger side as well as the front and third cylinder on the drives side.. my problems are for on i destroyed an injector removing it and am wonder what the best choice is when replacing one is.?.? also i found that three cylinders have burn marks and pitting on them not bad at all really the worst spot is the size of half a dime. the weird thing to me as these r the cylinders that the gasket wasn't destroyed anyone have a suggestion on what to use for pistons because i afraid to put it all back together the way it is although from what ive been told from a few mechanic friends its an option.. and the last thing is i have a head bolt that snapped off due to the gasket failure i think it is broke off almost flush in the block anyone know of how i might get that out.. thanks i appreciate any help anyone can give me

so are you rebuilding his engine? stock lb7/lly pistons will be the best way to go for a budget build. see if you can post pics of the burn marks. as for the broken bolt, if you are good with a welder, weld a washer to it, then a nut and it should come right out. if you cant weld, then try a left handed drill bit. usually headbolts arent very hard to get out if they break beacuse then the pressure is off of them.

i am up om the air on what to do right now the truck has low miles and i don't believe a junkyard motor is the way to go id rather build it a little and put in back together.. my friend took a look at the piston and told me that the marks im seeing wouldn't be caused by heat that something foreign to the combustion chamber was in there that caused the damage he also said to clean it up and run it.. i think im going to be going with the drill bit idea as the way that the bolt broke in my block is flush leaving it very hard to weld to
thanks for the help

Headstuds, square deck the block, plane the heads(EDIT: at least have a machine shop make sure the block deck is square to the main line and the heads are flat) grade c gm gaskets, de lipped LB7 pistons, LBZ rods, 50 horse DDP nozzles.....this would be a pretty solid but mild "budget rebuild"

With a good efi live tune that should get you 650ish whp and be relatively safe
