LLY: head cracked

went to pick up my heads and stuff from the machine this afternoon and found out that one was cracked. they sent to montreal somewhere to c if they can weld it. terrible start to the reassembly. so hopefully it can be welded, if not ill be lookin for a new drivers side head.

Sorry dude, But if ur keepin the truck get 2 new heads! Seen it before, fix one and some months later other side has issues, bite the bullet now if your gonna keep it. Just my $5.00.

They sent it to Montreal?? Please tell me what shop they sent it to. We've tried them all here in the area and there aren't too many guys that know what they're doing. But like was said, at this point I'd get a set of remanufactured heads.

im not sure what shop in montreal. i trust the guy who sent it up there for me, pretty sure its where he sends all of his stuff that needs welded or wutever. if i have to get new heads i will. but then the truck gonna have to sit for a while longer cause i am tapped out for money, and its my dd, i borrowing one of my bosses trucks rite now. i thinkin now just put it back together and try to sell it.

No don't sell it!! I feel you. I'm going on 18 months without my truck! This built motor is costing ALOT more than I first thought lol.

Hopefully they do a good job and you'll be ok.

have you priced out heads? they may cost a bunch less than you expect. I know my price isn't terrible on a new casting from gm.
