The least couple of days my trans has been giving me some issues. The first thing that happened was when going from Park to Reverse the truck shifts like gasser with a shift kit, if my foot wasnt on the brake HARD I think that the truck would have jumped back into the street, then a REALLY BAD flared 2-3 shift, I am talking about high revs, then BANG into gear. Then it seemed to work as normal, until I was on my way home and it did it again. It seemed like it would do it once and then it was business as usual.

Then this morning on my way to go run some errands it did it again, luckily I could feel it about to happen so I let off on the go pedal right before it shifted. I was pretty careful with it the rest of the day, but on a couple of occasions I could feel it try and flair again.

I went and reset TAPS, and I am thinking I should try a new NSBU. Does anyone have any ideas? The tune I was running was DPv6 that i have converted to a dsp tune using my stock tune as the Base. It seemed that the flair wanted to happen on any of the DSP tunes, both stock, DPv6 and my own tune.

Please Help!!!!!!!! -Jeff

If all else fails, re-do your dsp tune using DPv6 as the Base tune. Your base tune should be the strongest, as all the tunes on the dsp switch rely on tables in your base tune, So if the base tune is stock, well you get the idea.

I'm not saying this is causing your problems, but it is an easy way to rule something out for free.

on my way to work today it is still doing the same thing, even after resetting TAPS. It almost felt like there was a shudder as well. And when slowing down with the brakes the trans downshifts pretty hard. There are also two noticeable clunks coming from the trans, one seems to happen when taking my foot off the brake to accelerate, the other when I go over speedbumps, that one is like if you were beating the side of an empty oil pan with a wrench, its horrible. I need help!!!

Are you running your stock 02 TCM OS? I was just having the flared shift problem with an 01 tcm OS. So I loaded my stock TCM back in and did a full reflash, resetting taps also and it took my flared shifts away. Sounds like you have other issues though..

I talked to Mike, he said that I may have a bad ignition switch. I am throwing a P0652 code. I am going to test the TCM for voltage and then I should know more. -Jeff

I hate to tell you this but it sounds like what my tranny was doing, but mine was doing it between the 3+4 shifts. If I didnt let off when it started to rev it would throw a code. If I let off and was going fast enough, it would shift.
Did you do some racing or boosted launches before this started happening?

Mike I did not adjust the NSBU, I didnt take it off, all i did was clean the connections??

Jason, The only code i have thrown is the p0652 for low TCM voltage, I was actually being easier on the trans than normal when this started, No boosted launches or racing??

Call MikeL.

I forget if you have to reset the ECM after the install. I believe you do. I just can't remember how. Maybe disconnect the batteries the 15 minutes? Argh I can't remember Sorry
