I have only had my truck back less than a week, haven't driven it much until last night, I took it on a ride bout an hour from home mostly highway, got on it a few times, truck felt good.......got back home and noticed it was leaking coolant, the gauge never went up, never got hot. The lower radiator hose looks like it has a pin hole in it. The upper hose looked like it was stretched pretty good and hard as a rock, I know it will be when it's warm but it looked huge!!! I did "C" gaskets and ARP studs 2.5 years ago, not sure what to think???? I wouldn't think it blew a HG :confused::confused: Maybe a cup??? Or the overflow bottle cap??

Maybe the stats are not opening or not opening much i just had my little beater car have a stuck stat,it was fine for 1 1/2 drive to milwaukee and on the way home it stuck shut and over heated and i had just replaced it the year before when i installed the motor.

almost sounds like the cap is sticking closed. whens the last time you replaced the hoses?

the older the hoses get, the softer they become so if your still on original hoses, i wouldnt be surprised if they are starting to balloon and get pin holes. i had a couple little connecting hoses for the stock turbo do that to me right after i put the twins on.

I didn't get alot of pressure out of the bottle considering how that upper hose looked. It bled some air out but I was also just on the highway cruising at 80ish from Exeter to Westport (30 miles)

I am going to put a new hose on the bottom to stop the leak and drive it some and see what it does, it never had a low coolant light, never puked out of the overflow, never over-heated or even got warmer than usual, I'm hoping its ok and that factory 01 hose just gave up?? The upper hose looking like it did worries me though....:(

We replaced the lower hose, it was wasted, rubber was like melted off it around the water pump side. Drove it about 10 miles last night hammered a few times, checked the upper hose this morning and it was fine, not hard at all. :woott:

I guess if the bottom hose was that bad the upper is going to need to be replaced too, it is really flexible and soft when it gets warm.

I am going to drive it a while and see what it does, a bunch of us are headed to the dragway tomorrow, that trip will tell me how its doing.
