Who doesnt love a great deal. I bought my roll cab in january, bought both side cabs in feb and just bought the top chest today got the last one.l

I love this box. Its actually pretty good quality if you compare it to box store brands, Kobalt, craftsman/waterloo, etc etc. And I have a whopping $1000 invested into it. I think thats pennies compared to the tools it holds.

Only complaint i have is I have 4 different keys now.

I just have craftsman boxes (given to me) but I'm with you I would rather spend my money on tools than the box they go in. The only time I really see it being an issue is if you have a ton of 3/4" and 1" drive stuff that would buckle a cheap box.

they get the job done perfectly.

But if you use their stuff everyday (ratchets and etc) it just doesnt stand up.

Also when it comes to wrenches, something with no mechanical parts, use them every day and you can tell the different between a very good quality wrench and a cheap one. The H/Fs actually cut your hands somtimes, and dont fit the fastener as well. My Snappys and much more comfy to work with throughout the day.

This toolbox certainly doesnt hold a candle to a Matco 6 or Snap-On masters, but for the 10 grand more for one of those I can buy a lot of tools in the meantime.

I agree. Screw spending thousands of dollars on an empty tool box.

I have this one and the thing is really nice, I didnt have high expectations, but its awesome. The castors are big and solid, the drawers are heavy duty and dont sag, the doors glide very smoothly and easily, and they have a finger-catch so when you roll it around, the doors cant fall open. My craftsman "traditional" 36" wide ball-bearing tool chest that currently is my "main" box that holds all of my tools is an absolute piece of crap next to this harbor freight roll-around cart. The drawers on the craftsman dont feel half as strong, they dont have the little finger-latches to keep the drawers shut without having to lock it, the slides are already breaking, etc... As soon as I have more $$ saved up im dumping the craftsman tool chest and getting one of the "super heavy duty" harbor freight wide tool chests...

one of my buddies just got a job at harbor freight so we're all gonna have to mooch off of him now for the huge employee discount. :D

Because some of there sh!t is exactly that,,,, SH!T!!... But then some things I am simply amazed at the quality VS Price :thumb: And X2 on the Box, looks nice :)

Before I bought the top box I had all of my sockets in the top drawer of the roll cab and it didnt like it. But now they are in the top so all is good.

I mean these cabs are cheap, but look at what you get for $1000 and they kick the shit out of a crapsman

Both the roll cart and the one you want are a steal looks like to me. Shoot I may get one of the roll carts sooner myself. Was looking at the snap-ons but they're like 6 -$800

To me, the toolboxes at Greg Smith look identical to the harbor freight boxes. Im 99% sure they are the same box, from the same factory in china. The sticker on them is the same, and the drawer-catch-lock design is the same. Only difference I can see is that the Harbor Freight boxes have a "US GENERAL" badge stuck on the front.

i have many harbor freight tools. Some are pure junk and some are really nice. I priced a set of impact swivel sockets and about shit a brick. went to harbor freight and got metric and standard for 50 bucks! I have a ingersol ran 650ftlb impact and haven't broke one yet! I have a kennedy 43inch wide tool box that is plumb full. I have 800 in top and bottom and am getting ready to buy another. I am thinkng like you guys. It will be something cheap so I can put nice things in it:woott:

Well, I didn't make it back the next day but I got one yesterday! I just got the large bottom box that durallymax posted picture of. I'm excited about it! My first real tool box. LOL

Now I've got somewhere to put the nice craftsman kit my lovely wife got me for Christmas this year!


Went and bought some socket organizers today at sears as well... I'll start a new thread about them to see what you guys are using and not clutter up this thread with off topic discussion...

Harbor Freight always has some good stuff...mostly the random stuff that is hard to find.

But reg hand tools and such, I'll stick to a brand name.

Usually its pretty obvious what will work and last and what won't.
