The double row engines were rated at up to 2400HP on WWII gasoline constant duty. There were also triple row engines.

Now, if you don't need to fly at 30,000ft or run constant duty cycle, you could probably push the double row to 5000 HP on alcohol.

The aircraft engine pullers have always been a favorite of mine. This is the first one I've seen with a radial engine though. When i was a kid there was one guy around here with 3 v12 allisons on a tractor. It was beautiful. Glad to see them keeping the odd stuff going somewhere. Not much here anymore.

Sorry to hijack but I started watching some of the other pull vids and came across this one. Some really good pulls in here and it looked like a few members on this site in it too.
Sweet red dually at 10:30-big DD sticker on the tailgate.
Really makes me want to get my junk back on the road.:baby:

Probably not the best title.

I was commenting on the guy pumping his fists at the end.

The WTF was because how high the CG would be and how much rotational force those put out.

And I stand corrected, later models were up to 3,700 HP on gasoline at altitude. Triple row never made it off the drawing board. When first developed they has serious issues with fire which delayed the B-29's service date.

Sidebar - These had Power Recovery Turbines on some models, which is a turbine in the exhaust which increased power up to 20%. Legal for diesel pullers? Dunno.
