Happy birthday :baby:
whats your plans for tonight?
Plans are pretty simple, There was a huge ice storm that went through the area last week that took a lot of stuff out. St Joseph is an hour away from me, and they got hit pretty hard. 30,000 homes without electricity.
One of the excuses for it still being out is that the electricians can't get to the down powerlines because of tree limbs in the streets, so they haven't even tried to work on it yet.
So some friends and me took it upon ourselves to volunteer our trucks and snow plows to help. We were told that our help was not needed, they would wait for the rain to stop and the ice to melt
(Surprising enough he lives in the newer part of town that had elec.) I suggested that he let my niece and nephew stay with him seeing as they had no heat without power
And after some constructive criticism from myself and a few others he finally agreed to let us help. Here we are a couple days later down to about 20,000 without, but we are gaining.
PS My niece and nephew say its more fun plowing trees than snow, because the big bangs when they hit the blade and go flying into the ditch sounds and looks just like the cartoons... so I hit a few extra hard just for them.:hehe::nana:
PPS If you ever plan on being in a truck for 30hrs straight take more than 200 songs...And no I can't just listen to the radio they don't work when ice takes the towers down.
