I have a 4 gauge overhead pod but haven't mounted it yet. How are you guys securing it in place?

Also, how are you running your pyro leads to reach that far?

By the mirror pretty much. Some have put a small screw on the edge toward the window, but I'm not to thrilled about screwing it up there. Works fine like it is now IMO.. I need to take the dremel to it and fix the edges so it's flush with the headliner.

ON edit: For the pryo I had to go thru the Driver side firewall and hook up on the driver side Exhaust manifold.

Mne super velcroed to the windsheildit holds real well and the mirror rests on the front of it . i just ran new wires for the pyro , any twin lead wire will work just fine . i had some shielded 3 pair i used . i can get you a pic if needed .

What kind of gauge do you have? Mine is an Autometer with the factory terminated connector on the sensor and the braided sheath over the lead wires almost all the way to the connector. I'd rather not cut into the wires, but I guess I can if I have no other choice. Maybe I'll just upgrade the driver's side manifold to a BD and put the pyro over there. That's what I've been thinking about doing for a while then I can hook up a drive pressure gauge to the passenger's side manifold.

I contacted Autometer about a lengthier cable. He said it isn't possible as the gauge is calibrated for the length provided with every gauge they send.

Maybe he just didn't know what he's talking about. I don't think it would matter on a electrical gauge like that, as temp is read by the sensor and transmitted to the gauge.

i have auto meter as well , mine had 2 ring terminals when i first installed it about 2 feet from the sensor , then you heat shrinked over them i just repeted the proscess with my own wire . but i se no problem with soldering wires and heat shrinking to run your own cable .

i call bs , 1-2 feet of extra wire will not change anything , you would not even be able to measure the fifference with a ohm meter . and i have not noticed a difference in the reading's since . at least at WOT its identical.
