Anyone ever ran a Gt4718 as a single? Kinda been thinking a bit about it and curious how lazy it would be with the T6 housing...Not sure if a T4 is even available for it either. Thoughts? This is not a DD, only driven about 5k miles a year and does not tow ever.

Dan grant runs the gtx4718r as a singlegle doesn't he? He's done lows tens and even dipped Iinto the 9's with it if I'm not mistaken, unless he has changed his turbo setup since septemeber.

A few months back I had plans of running one as a single. But i like to street drive my truck more than anything so it would be useless for me.

Lol, I don't care what he did...I was looking for something other than some dyno numbers.....

Dan does run one, and it runs good at sea level. He couldn't get it spooled when he was in utah last at a dyno event and at the track. Even adjusted his waste gate but still only did 900ish hp with it and it didn't clean up.

Same thing happened to Dmitri as well when he ran it in higher elevation. Couldn't get it to light at the track, only did 900ish on fuel on the dyno. A huge shot of nitrous finally got it to light, which is the video that was posted.

I've been wondering how a setup would do if a gtx47 was in the valley with it compounded with something else to help it spool. It would allow for less restriction in a compound setup

I think the gt4718 is way to massive to run as the primary in a compound setup. To bad garrett didn't rethink the turbine in the gt4718..it could make a nice atmo charger in compounds. Hanging an 88mm compressor off a 93mm turbine.. it's not ideal.

I'm fairly certain I will use one for my compounds over my 72. I have a few ways to work around the 93mm turbine that should make it do everything I want.

You can also convert it to a gt55 turbine..
