Do any of our vendors 'refresh' Garrett turbos? Got one that may need a new wheel, general cleanup, etc.

Any recommendations? Approximate cost?

If its ball bearing it needs a new center cartridge , I can get them if you need one , if its Journal bearing send it to Gillett Diesel , talk to Matt and tell him I sent you , they will take good care of you , and can do custom work also if your in the market .

How bad is it? could run 400 to 1500 is it ball bearing 4094? also were are you located at?

It's the PPE 4094 kit. Ball bearing. Supposedly has a few dings on the compressor wheel, but no shaft play. I haven't actually seen it in person yet, just getting ready to have someone to maybe rewheel it once it gets here.

I'm in southern CT.

Did you buy it off of here? And was it from MD if so I would just run it if its the kit i'm thinking about. Other then that if its a GT4094R PPE ball Bearing turbo you will need this.

CHRA GT40R
Oil & Water-cooled bearing system
52 trim 94.0mm compressor wheel
78 trim 77.0mm turbine wheel

Retail is $1,576.74 and you just install your exhaust housing and comp housing on to it everything is new and balanced.

I can do it for 1,315.00 and what ever shipping works out to be.Might be able to get that one rebuilt also for you for around 800.00 would have to call Garrett tommorrow to make sure.

It's not bad at all. I would put new baskets and bolts and put it on. I would not worry about the rebuild. The wheel is not torn up just a few small rough spots. The turbo only has 5k on it. I had to pull it off and since I did I just decided to go bigger. If I did not have to pull it off I would still be running it just the way it is.

Sounds good to me. Thanks for all the input.

I'll probably just put it in, just wondering about how much it would be if I wanted it redone because it's going on a brand new built motor.
