My stock turbo is starting to get worn, some shaft play and a slight "polishing" on the housing where the wheel is starting to contact it. My question is I have a fresh rebuilt gt4088 sitting here, but everything I found is its a non gated turbo, and the install kit you buy has no gate on it? Does this not need it??
Also will my stock injectors work with this turbo? I don't want to buy another stock turbo where I have this one already.
I also have an s300 that's a 62/74/1.25 non gated, and a gated gt4294
Thanks!

4088 is a good turbo but they run a little warm... What exh. housing does it have?

Your S300 would be a touch better than the stocker, but it has a pretty loose housing. It would probably be a little laggy.

The 4294 is a big boy, laggy but would make alot of power providing you had the tuning and fuel to light it. Say adios to the stock rods if you lean on it to hard.

4088 would be my vote with a tight exh. housing 1.0 ish or tighter and run a gated pedestal to control drive pressure and possible over speeding of the turbo.

Or sell them all off and pick up a nice S366 & install kit from Trent.

I have never seen a 40/88 with 1.01. are you sure that is correct? if it does have a 1.01 it should run fine.

hows the EGTs at the top end?

With 45% injectors and stage 3 Floor It pump at 2550 pw, egt's were 1250 deg. Rail holds 24-25k. at 42 lbs boost & very clean haze.

Raised fuel to 2680 pw and egt's increased dramatically to 1500 deg. Still 42 lbs boost. No drive pressure gauge. Starting to exceed turbo's map. I'm assuming I'd be around 670 hp given that Pat saw 670 hp fuel only.
