Trying to decide on a turbo for the 2.5 class here this next year. What would be the best a/r to run on a gt4088 running a single cp3? I know Pat ran the charger with dual cp3's I believe so I am sure he used a rather large a/r, so figured I would need a smaller one. Any input is appreciated. Thanks
Chris

I would probably suggest the 1.06 a/r. I think that's what most are running with the 88.
I have the 4094 and run the .95 which works good for the spool but restricts it some at the higher rpms more than I would like. It basically comes down to how much are you going to use the truck when not pulling? The higher the a/r the less usable the truck is if you do much towing, or work the truck much. Hope I helped :)

I have noticed most are running this a/r but I know ECC_33 has had trouble with high egts and I was wondering if a smaller a/r would be better for a single cp3 although I will be running fairly high rpms in 3rd gear with 315 bfg's so maybe it can put enough load on the engine to make it work. Sorry if I am making wrong assumptions as I am a newb to all these turbo specs.

Kevin, you may want to look into an external waste gate for your turbo. This would help with the restriction you are concerned over.

For the price of a store bought I could buy the housing and put it on and still save money so I'm looking at ways to do a homemade setup. I just hate the idea of soot all over under the hood. I'm open to suggestions and ideas.:)
