Nope sorry. shoulda been a lil more specific. the Yukon Grizzly AAM 11.5. My stock rearend is pretty much gone to say the least. I'v done a lot of reaserch between forums/web, and I really like this one. I'v heard the least complaints, and most good about it.

Interesting.

Must be new?

Is it a "detroit locker" type design (always locked, allows one tire to go faster, but never slower than diff speed)?

That would be the bomb.

I know Alligator has them. They're not a vendor on this site and I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post a link up or not. But I know any 4x4 shop near you should be able to order one from Yukon.

I believe it is "detroit" style. From what I've read if you're in the throttle through a turn you'll scrub tires, but it seems to hold the power these trucks can push and is really popular with the off road/jeep communities.

Plus it's got a lifetime warranty! :thumb:

Yup, detroit locker style.

While normally only used for off-road applications, this should be a good choice for our trucks. They are noisy, and have "interesting" handling when cornering, but always have one tire "locked" to diff speed.

When you corner, the inside tire is "locked" and the outside tire is free. This means the inside tire breaks loose until it matches the ourside tire speed when cornering aggressively. It feels like a spool when roadracing. Torsen or clutch-types are better for handling, but that's not a big issue for us.

This question comes up a lot. Here's the Vendor Policy:

First, this is site is not a "money-first" site. It's a "hotrodder-first" site. We have vendors here to primarily assist members with tech issues and part info. We don't even permit non-Dmax related vendors at this time. At first, it was free to advertise on this site if you were listed as vendor. But that didn't work. The "free vendors" were 95% of the fights on the board, and seldom helped members. By charging a fee of $500/yr, it insures the shop is serious about this site and it's members.

Since these are paying vendors, to be fair to them, they should be given first-shot at a sale. But we don't want to stifle tech-talk either. So here is what the current plan is:

If a vendor on this site complains who carries the same part, we remove the reference.

Refrain from putting links in your sig to advertise for a non-vendor. Again, when a competing vendor complains the signature is edited.

But since we don't know exactly what various shops sell, you are always free to post who carries parts, and we only edit things when we are notified.

This seems to be a fair middle-ground.

Cool. Thanks for the info McRat!

D-MAX+, be sure to post up how you like the Grizzly after it's a few miles on it. I'm about 95% sure I'll be getting one in the next couple of months(post-trans). :woott:

I will be picking up my truck tonight that now has a built trans and Grizzly Locker. All of my research has shown it to be very high quality and reliable. Here is a pic of it out of the box.

I cant remember exactly what he put in off the top of my head, local builder who has been working on specifically ally's for 25 years and has been building them for pullers for the last 10. I went with everything but billet inputs and outputs and he found 2 solenoids that tested marginal I have to wait one more day now.

Well got an update and the Grizzly Locker is in. All I can say what the hell was I thinking all this time, I wish I would have done this earlier. EXTREMELY smooth, no noise, SOLID engagement there is no question that it loves life locked. On the street turning sharply I do feel it pushing a little bit but nothing major, on soft ground I don't think it has unlocked, which is perfect to me. As a hole whole I recommend this anyone hands down.
