My grille shell is peeling the chrome off at the corners and looks like hell. My Chevy sign in the middle is all faded away also.
Where is/was your favorite place to get a new grille? I dont mean just the inserts either, I need the part that goes between the headlights on both sides.

I believe that the part that goes between the headlights on both sides is part of the grill, at least it is on mine ;) I did look into getting mine painted and was told that it wouldn't stick, I bet the aftermarket has something, you might do a search on Ebay.

STILLEN has some stuff, both billet and factory looking. Can't speak to the quality and I don't have one... but they keep sending me the freakin' catalogue.

Hope this helps.:)

Excuse my ignorance, but is it a chevy or GMC?

I looked through stylinconcepts and they have quite a few but the pictures show for older body styles and that kind of scares me. I think they had some paintable ones also, but I have no idea what color I would go. I guess I could go black... Or leave it "paintable" black like I did my fender flares. :dontknow:

Its just "urban" camo. It actually is a billet aluminum bowtie but I thought it looked ugly with the whole entire front end chrome. So I covered it with vinyl.

Just take it off, sand the chrome off, and paint it the same color as the truck. Paint the emblem a different color to stand out. My brother's black truck has a red emblem and my white truck has a black emblem.

That is a great idea b/c obviously the chrome will peel right off. Unfortunately, one of the multiple deer I have hit has broken part of the lower section already, that is why I'm looking to go new.
I saw that stylinconcepts also sells polished and chrome emblems to stick on there, pretty slick.

I have seen a lot of stuff flying around the net lately about people trying to replace and build their own grills using sheets of wire mesh like this stuff thats woven : http://www.bwire.com/

Not sure if this is a good idea, unless you are a real DIY'er, but a lot of people have posted pictures in other forums, and it always seems to turn out pretty nice...

I guess if you just cut the correct size wire mesh or wire cloth piece and paint it it can be easily fastened into place. I, myself would rather just buy one, but I have heard of this more and more recently as the recession continues.

Just a thought...
