I stopped into the dealer on my way home today and had them check out an oil leak I have been putting off. They found the upper oil pan gasket is leaking and the lower valve cover gasket on right is leaking. Service manager told me they would need it for two days because the trans has to come out for the upper pan gasket and I got this oh shit feeling. I was straight forward with the service manager and told him that I have had the trans out and built with aftermarket goodies and that the engine has had minor power upgrades installed:D. I chose this dealer because they handle the service and sales for the entire fleet of company vehicles for my employer and both owners are friends. The service manager said that is no problem and was glad I was up front with him. He told me my service work is always welcome and that what has been done with my ride is between him and I. Sorry for the rant but I felt very lucky to have him be that cool.

Thats Great!

Your Lucky to have a good dealer.

My Local dealer is the same, They know i have mods, but still work on my truck.

But the problems ive had were nothing to do with my Mods

Leaking Trans lines, leaking rear driveshaft yoke, Starter bendix,Leather seat cover ripped.

Im not going to have them do repairs that i might be responsible for, say a motor if my mods blew it up, but if its a factory defect then so be it.

Honesty is always the best policy, at least you were upfront and they will still help, common sense goes along way!:)

The dealer I use is the same way. The service manager is an old family friend. I had a P0606 code issue (only happened when the truck was tuned) So we went out for a spin while he monitered it with his tech II on my race EFI tune. Got the problem fixed, and he starts telling the owner of the dealer how my truck runs. He asked if he could take it for a spin so I tossed him the keys. When he got back he asked 'where can I buy this EFI live?' It was pretty cool.

The service manager has told me that they will do any warranty work I need done with no problems, but if something fails b/c of the mods there isn't much he can do, witch is completely understandable.
