Well it's far from new but I got a new ride. Since my truck is in pieces again an I don't see it ever seeing daily driving again I decided I needed a new vehicle for daily driving. I was gonna buy an old cummins to beat on but then I got set on buying a tdi jetta. And i wanted a 99-03 with the alh engine as there are many upgrades available for them which could also be a bad thing.
Money is tight and I didn't want to spend much. These things go like crazy around here they rarely last a week before they are sold.
I picked up a 2000 jetta tdi tonite for $4,600. It's got some miles on it 227,000 but these cars run forever. The timing belt was just changed and therest of the car is very sound except for one dent. In addition tk the tdi motor it's got a 5spd manual heated seats 6 disc changer, an the premium sound I think the brand is monsoon.
The rims aren't my taste but they don't look too bad.
I really wanted the manual so I wouldn't have to worry about destroying an automatic with added power.
Mods I plan to add in the next few months are
boost/pyro in pods on pillar
kermatdi q-loader
full stainless turbo back exhaust with aeroturbine resonator
Future plans include a south bend stage three clutch and billet flywheel, limited slip differential and maybe some biger injectors. It currently has 22hp over injectors and it really scoots.
Distant future plans include turbo and many other things but hopefully I can control myself.
