Got the truck dynoed just now

Well I was very disappointed in the way they pulled the truck.
Who the hell dynos in 2nd gear?? With out T/H on?? Idiots at the dyno I went to thats who.

I got 420hp and 6 something torque on the first 2 runs in 2nd gear, I guess thats good :rofl:

Then I figured out what they were doing.. So I told them to run it in 4th gear it made 503hp and 841trq.
They had to roal into also because they couldnt lock it into gear. Next time I'll bring the laptop and use the dvt to lock it. This was one a superflow dyno btw


I think thats good for exhaust and lift pump are my only mechanical mods, STOCK TRANNY :eek:

Can I have one of those 500hp thingys in my avatar please?

i made more ricer kids cry with our dyno then i can even count!!! best part of the job!! "sorry timmy i can't help that all this crap you bolted on your car made it have less HP!!" "but if you have the money i can redo it right for you" i would then tell them how much it would be to do it right and they unstrap ther car and send them on there way :rofl:

To the OP that’s the best kind of dyno to go to as long as the person running it knows what there doing...read this thread to help you get your moneys worth when you go back.

Unless they fixed the issues, you may not want to use the DVT to lock it in gear. Your best bet would be to make a dyno TCM tune that keeps it from downshifting.

Ahh thats a good idea. I'm gonna have it rerun on Dunbars next time he comes local. He has the technology to keep it locked in gear I think.

Edit: I dont have any idea how to make a 4th gear only tcm tune

Drop the 3-2 downshift speeds so it is just above the 2-1 downshift speed by a couple of MPH. Drop the 4-3 downshift speeds so it is just above the new 3-2 downshift speed by a couple of MPH. You will also want to raise the 4-5 upshift speed so it won't shift to 5th during your run. Make sure you do that for both part and WOT tables. You will probably want to check the converter will stay locked.

I like to make the changes to the T/H portion of the tables so I can have normal shifting when I drive, and I click it into T/H once on the dyno and it stays in gear with no downshift or upshift.

Thanks, and yeah I know. The 100 dollars was defineatly worth it now that I have that 500 badge :joker:

Sounds good!!!

I will be trying to hit the 500 mark this summer. There's no way I can get it on a stock trans. It woun't take 1/4 throttle on a 100 HP milage tune right now:eek:. SO, I have a couple boxes sitting in my garage right now to help out. Plus a guy who knows a thing or 2 about how to tune a truck. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and hope it turns out good.
