Got a new truck, LLY 3500

Picked this up about 2 weeks ago now. and i love it!!!! its a lil bit more loaded up than what id like(LT with all the trimmings like DVD player), but oh well, cant pass up the deal on it

64kmiles on it, came with the stock wheels which i painted black.

Just after buying it, getting some taco bell before the 4hr ride home

And the wheels painted

And now i have some questions about the LLY, i know some ppl say in the higher miles that it will have head gasket problems, and the 2 7 injector harness.

but my questions are, some people said that if i had the FE9 code in my dash that i wont have to worry about deleting my EGR because it means the computer doesnt recognize the emissions stuff. also then, should i get the blocker plate or the hole EGR delete kit?

any info you would like to give me on other topics id appreciate it!

Congrast on the ride! Nice! both our fe9 llys were fine with the exhaust off, as soon as i plated it it threw the cel. as for head gaskets, hard to say, i do more llys then anything but iv seen some get the snot run outa them, overheated and so on with no issues, myu wifes truck was one of them, 90k on the stock ones @ 500~700 rwhp, were still good when the engine came out! Good tuning is key to headgaskets living...IMO!

If it were me id do a whole egr delete, but a plate serves the same function!

ok, so ur saying Caleb that ur FE9 LLYs where fine with the exhaust, but when u plated ur egr it threw the CEL light?

and ur saying to just delete the whole egr system, what about the pcv re route, do that also?

yes, it will throw a code for the EGR. A fingerstick will turn it off, but better off to just get efi live tuning with it already turned off in the tuning. Replace the stock turbo mouthpiece, the AFE bladerunner is a direct drop in. Re route the PCV, and enjoy it.

Its all good stuff to do, pvc reroute, egr blocker or removal, mouth peice and down pipe even with no power tuning the truck will be happier!!!:thumb:

Delete egr. Cleans up the engine. My head bolts held over 60 psi. The block and rods gave out first. Nice truck too

I would delete the egr and use a lb7 up pipe or cap it off. You will need some tuning to turn it off. We also sell a real nice down pipe for your truck that would work well with the egr delete. Do the pvc also can put something together or there are kits out there for it. If you would like I can make a package priced kit for everything for you.

Truck looks good makes me want a dually.
