My father has a 2007 classic crewcab, and is wanting to upgrade the rims and tires. He doesn't want to have to screw around with anything, that includes leveling kits, cranking the torsion bars, shaving plastic, having them really wide, or sticking out so far they throw mud up the sides:eek:. Wheel rub will piss him right off lol. He is hoping to go to a 17 or 18 inch rim however. Can anyone reccomend a good tire/rim combo with an appropriate backspacing?

H2 with maybe a 285/70/17. Its a 33x11.50. U can get the chrome h2s from tony at allseasons performance. Least he use to have them, i haven't looked in awhile. Any rim that tucks in the wheel like stock should fit a 33x11.50 (285/75/16) which is what i run on my winter wheels fits without rubbing. A backspace of 5-5.5 or close to stock will work with a rim width of 8-9. Closer to 8 wide will be easier unless u went to a smaller tire. Being he doesn't want to cut anything.

Thanks, this is exactly what I was looking for! I know he will not like the H2 rims, but at least this gives me some specs to look for. These are just going to be summer street tires with a non-aggressive tread, as he never really leaves the highway, and tows his 5th wheel a lot.

Whatever wheel you get, try to get one that has a high positive offset.

16x8. And tire size 285/75/16. Id try and stay around 5in. Close to stock. Keep it tucked in inder the truck, that way no trimming is required. 265/75/16 will fit easier but i like the look of the 285s.
