good reading. In the article banks says lb7/lly pistons are good to 700HP and 5,000 RPM where the LBZ pistons are good to 550-600 HP and no additional RPM. We all thought it was HP cracking them. Maybe it is the added RPM of some tunes that we use....It also says the LBZ pistons are made in Japan

i doubt that many of the failures are rpm related. i see alot that are done with regular tuners, off the shelf stuff that dont alter the rpm.
Most off the shelf tuners will up the rpm won't they? I have only run 1 off the shelf tuner and I know quadzilla does.

they would have to adjust the TCM to up the rpms
Don't wanna hurt nobodies feelers, but we took LBZ slugs past 750HP. They only quit AFTER we melted them, but they never cracked.
