I've went round and round with this. What kind of money am I looking at? 4500 is what I heard the bottom line is. Some links would be sweet, I have a few builders in mind. Please chime in

Where are you located? Let your builder use what he recommends.

^^ this guy if you're doing it. But if someone is building it then let them do it their way. Assuming they know what they're doing.

I have used Evan and all I can say is tits! Go with Evan and as long as you are a bit familiar with wrenching and trannies you will have zero issues. Get a atsg manual and follow kit instructions and pay very close attention to detail. Take lots of photos and take your time. Evan Mike L and a few others are the gospel when it comes to building allisons right. If you are trying to do it on your own try to ride their shirt tails they have been there and done that. Good luck.

Evan's number is 413-770-3585

Don't bother dealing with anybody but him. I just bought a kit from Evan that I'll be buttoning up tonight. If I can do it with Evan's help anybody can do it. Never been in a transmission before. Never done anything like this. Evan has been great to deal with, just took a bunch if pictures as everything was going back together and would send them and he'd verify. He's been extremely patient.

I'm one of the newest members of the "hell I'll just build the trans myself" club. Take it to someone. At the least pull it and ship it to Evan. If you haven't had any experience with them it's not worth the headache.

Did you get a kit from Evan or elsewhere?

Due to a very strange series of events I actually went through Suncoast directly. I should have went through Evan because of obvious reasons. He even helped me tremendously even though I didn't use him. Super good guy and for the kit he offers you're better off using him. I'd even take it a step farther and say just save the hassle and send him the trans. OP, It's worth the piece of mind and your sanity lol.

If I lived south of the border I would have shipped mine to Evan but I was getting quotes of $1500 to ship one way. If it's not possible to get your transmission to Evan ordering a kit from him is the next best thing.

Yeah no doubt. I think my biggest problem was I was rushed due to my work schedule. Try using uship.com people bid on the delivery like ebay. I got my motor shipped to me and the core shipped out for a very reasonable price.
