Hey mike if you happen to catch this thread ive got a question for you. Sometimes when i go to put my truck in park it does not go in all the way so i have to drop it all the way into first and go all the way up, then it usually will go to park. It seems to be getting worse, i pulled the pan to do a internal filter change on saturday and did a little bit of looking around. I didnt really come up with anything except maybe my detent spring is worn or maybe my cable stretched?? idk but i took the selector arm of the nsbu switch to check for wear and it was pretty tight. Do you think that manual valve could be messed up or the parking pawl spring is weak? Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!!:thumb:

Sounds like a cable problem.
Put the trans into park and pull the key out. BLOCK THE WHEELS. Crawl under the truck and with a screw driver pop the cable off the trans linkage. Move the arm on the side of the trans back and forth to see if we have an internal proble. I am betting no. Then with cable disconected, move the column shifter back and forth to see if there is a problem. This will tell you where the problem is. Call me if you need me.

Well I did as you said and it was the cable. It was about 1/4" too short once I popped it off so I did some searching and found a link on how to adjust the cable where its connected in the middle. Pulled it apart and retentioned the spring and it works great now! Thanks alot!!
