Going compounds on lml few questions

Got the manifolds and up pipes on and finished yesterday. Wow, what a difference! It sounds night and day better especially on a lml. I’ve always hated how these still have somewhat of a squeal to them even with a 3” Downpipe. Much deeper louder rumble at all rpms now. Worth it in my books!

Levi @ Turbo Performance makes manifold and up-pipe blankets that are easy to install and work extremely well.

He also can make custom blankets for between turbo hot pipe, I am glad I did it so I don't have to deal with ichy heat wrap when working under the hood.

I didn’t end up wrapping up pipes. How big of a difference does it really make? My twin hot pipes are wrapped, and have a blanket for the 480.

I can't say that wrapping or blanketing the manifolds and uppipes made it spool any faster or if it lowers the under hood temps. But when I put on the Manifold and uppipe blankets, even before I did compounds, It did help quiet down the engine sounds in the cab.

Got injectors back today and picked up stuff from sandblaster. Injectors literally look brand new!

Said fuck it, might as well do it all at once! 66mm stage 3. 13mm vanes, 76x68 10 blade turbine. Should work great in compound setup!

Picked up some gauges as well, gotta see the boost and egt numbers! Haven’t ran any sort of gauges on the lml yet.

Started tear down Friday night. Got turbo out of valley and injectors swapped over. Throw dual pump on quick, drop valley turbo in and atmo on now!
