I had a bunch of water get in the foglights on my 06 during a really wet spring last year and I am going to replace them this weekend. My question is can I seal the vent hole on the back of the housing to keep water out? Or can I cover it somehow and keep the water out but keep the vent functional? I will be using 35w HID lights in the new housings.

I don't think you want to seal it, or it will fog over. Can you attach a hose to it and bend it down, so it will vent and not let water in?

I'm surprised you got water in them mine have been under water and I've never see any in there.

I haven't got the new ones yet as they were on back order so I will have to see if I can attach a hose or elbow of some sort. I was surprised to see water get in mine but there was about an inch of water in the bottom and I couldn't see anywhere else where it would be getting in.

Got one on mine that leaked. From what I could tell the vent hose came off allowing water in. Looking to replace both assemblies with some led units.

Got my new foglights today. The old ones had a piece of plastic like a sticker over the vent hole and looked factory(I assume they were factory housings. Maybe someone can look at there's to verify). The plastic sticker has a hole in it where the vent is located underneath it so I am assuming it melted. :dontknow: The new ones have a piece of fine mesh stuck over the vent hole so I hope they will be better.
