The information is both correct and exaggerated at the same time:

Car sales in China are huge right now.
Cars imported into China are heavily taxed.
The best way to sell cars there (and not get screwed by import taxes) are to build them locally but to do that the companies have to 'team' with Chinese car builders.
Every car company is doing this. BMW, GM, Fiat (Chrysler), Toyota etc etc etc

But from what I have been reading they are saying that sales are starting to slow. Not surprising since there was no way the volume of sales could have stayed at the rate they were going. BTW the Chinese LOVE Buick. GM has been doing big numbers with that brand. Not surprising they going to move some R&D there to build cars that the Chinese would continue to want. From everything I've read its just a business move no different then when the Japanese and now the Korean car makers started selling in the US. Only difference is its US companies trying get some of the action.

Complain about money from jap cars going back to japan, but don't like GM selling cars in China a bringing money back here? Before you get all worked up about this - which is exactly what whoever did that video wants - stop and think for a minute. China is the world's largest car market and foreign makers have been there for years. GM would be stupid not to be into that market and I hope they sell a ton of cars over there. And no, it's not gonna be CM, don't be so gullible. Google "Ford in China" and "Chrysler in China" and find out they're doing the same thing as GM.....the *sshole who did the youtube forgot to say anything about that.

To be honest not really anymore and it's sad man...ALL of the "American" brands aren't fully made in America as far as I know

Spin doctoring.

GM is building plants there to sell cars to the CHINESE!

They are splitting their R&D to focus on the new HUGE market.

GM builds 7 of 10 vehicles outside the US because they sell over half of their vehicles outside the US. It is the same reason Toyota and the others build their cars here. In 2011 GM sold 1.8 million of 4.7 million Chevys they made world wide in the US.

Come on Guys. Use your heads.

What do you expect? GM sells a ton of cars in China while everyone in the USA says what shit AMERICAN cars are. While toymotor, honda, nissan, etc. are the greatest thing ever. How long can you listen to that before saying f it, people in china like our cars we go there. We do nothing to help our own so I am not suprised...
