Im getting ready to refresh my SCIV, the shifts have been getting lazy and im afraid some of the clutch packs might have gotten damaged last year. When i do im going to put a brace on a filter lock and a new tc. Im thinking a precisions tc, but i havent decided yet what would be best for my application, the truck sees a lot of 1/4mile passes and sled pulls, its not really a daily driver and seldom tows trailers. Also what should i get to refresh the tranny? Just new clutch packs?

Thanks
Rob

Its got 50k miles on it, the fluid was flushed about 15k ago. Once last year at the drag strip it got stuck in second gear for some reason and when i launched it took off in second. Every since then the trans has shifted really bad, with some lazy shifts and flaring pretty bad between gears no matter what tune i run.

Rob, I may know where a 1058 is with less than 1000miles and 4 truck pulls. It's pretty much new. Same guy also has a 1057 (which is no longer made iirc) WITH billet input shaft. They go as a pair - the 1057 and shaft, that is.

Tore the tranny down with help from Tim at sjd, we found the c3's were burnt, and the laminant had started falling off the c2's, for what reason? we dont know. So anyways c1s,4s,5s all looked perfect so 2s, and 3s are getting replaced tommorow along with a valve body mod.:D
