Anyone have any experience getting a replacement title on a truck in Florida? I'm swapping some labor for a late 80s k5 blazer that I want to swap my 6.2 into. Problem is it has no title and hasn't for years. No way to get in touch with any previous owners besides my buddy I'm getting it from. And they bought it with no title. I have a cop friend that can run the vin to verify it isn't stolen. Just curious what I'm in for.

Good luck, best thing to do is contact the local DMV and see if they can track the owner down by the VIN number. Florida is pretty stingy on handing out titles, and can even be a pain to get a title transferred with a signed one in hand.

I see it says North Central FL.. There is a guy on Craigslist here in pensacola that is always offering this service.. Its a Pain to go through DMV and such,my buddy did a trade with trucks and came out on the loosing end.. After he had traded he went to DMV and found out the title was signed wrong...
But from what i understand theres other ways of getting a title if you have the know how..

Yeah fl is a tough state for getting replacement atv titles I know. That is impossible. Never tried with a vehicle. I'm going to ask the local dmv this week. I've read the easiest thing is to have a shop owner friend do some work to it and say it was abandoned, them get a title and sell it to me?

Only problem is to file a mechanics lien, you will have to have something showing that the titled owner of it brought it in for work. Otherwise they will file the lien, but I doubt you will be able to get a title for it. Everybody I know that needed a title went to ALABAMA to get one.
