Who is making 1000hp or close to it?
Max'd out, Nasty girl, McRat
My machine shop said as a daily driver it wouldnt effect it at all. I guess I will find out
IIRC the 1000hp duramax's are not over 4000rpm
So why can a gas engine survive and Diesel's cant? Is Banks having trouble with there road race engine? that would have to survive a long time
Lets discuss making a Duramax last at 5,000 rpm and 1000 hp. Continuous duty cycle (min of 6 hours).
Those engines are not performing the same duty cycle. Those are on / off the throttle. A marine engine typically sees a much higher on the throttle duty cycle than a road race car.
My guess is that you will need some monotherm pistons first in order to sustain that kind of power for that length of time. Marine engines do get an excellent break on cooling (60 deg F water vs. 100+ deg F air) and can be used to its advantage with regards to keeping the boost and engine cool. But if you can't keep from melting the pistons, well, game over.
Exactly, that what I want to know.
