Getting one of those diamond eye downpipes, thanks Kat. I'd like to have it coated for heat reduction. I've done some reading and have narrowed it down to either:
Jet Hot
extream sterling
http://www.jet-hot.com/headercoatings.html
very popular

or

Swain Tech
http://www.swaintech.com/store.asp?pid=10321

Sounds good and thick.
Only available in white: don't really care.

Then if needed, put some of this on the firewall:
http://www.heatshieldproducts.com/heat_shield_cloth.php

I've just had problems with my F350 floor getting hot in the past, so a little paranoid. However, the PSD factory downpipe was flattened into an oval for clearance by the factory and thus the 3.5 round aftermarket one I installed was closer to the firewall since it wasn't squished to fit.

Anyone with swain experence? I know Jet Hot has good stuff.

ive used hpc-high performance coatings in the past for headers and snomobile exhaaust-seemed to work great
although i would stay away from the wrap-i tends to weaken metal somehow over time--ive seen lots of headers rot out underneath the wrap alot quicker than the unwrapped ones

Swain it is then. Kat is drop shipping when the DPs come in. They are about the same price, JH is $25 foot and Swain is $30 or more if prep work is needed. So, if its new, it will probably cost about $15 more for Swain. Love the way they refer to all others as a paint vs. their coating (.002 vs .015)

The wrap that comes on the pipe is all you need, I installed the diamond eye this past summer and have had no issues with heat at all. ;)
