I kno its probably been asked but I've looked all over. Can you get a 12" sub behind the seat in a 03 crew cab. I know there's plenty of boxes for under the seats but I don't like the idea of it facing down ward just incase of something getting under it and piercing the sub. ( I use under my seats for storage also.) If anyone has this set up please tell me how you did it. I kno you can do it i see them on youtube. But they never said how they did it. I have a truck box by kicker for a 12" but its just barely small. I was thinking about cutting away the plastic in the back just too give it a little bit more room but wasn't sure if it would work or not still. If you have this set up please send dimensions of your box to see if mine will work. :beavisnbutthead:

I actually made me a box this last weekend for my truck. Fits behind the seat perfect. But i like the sound of 10's better so i made it for that. Single 10" JL audio 10w0v3 sub. Box sounds amazing and thumps hard.

Box is sealed and made from 5/8ths material. 3/4 wouldnt allow the dimensions i needed. I made it as big as i could and it came out to 1.3 cubic feet. Then stuffed it full of the poly fill stuff to trick the sub into thinking the enclosure is bigger than it really is. In my ears opinion, the poly fill also cleans up the thump the woofer makes.

I also notched the black plastic piece to fit around the box. Didnt have any carpet laying around so i left it all woody like.

Here's a pic if it helps

Those look like the shallow mount subs. You generally wont get the clarity out of a shallow sub as you will out of a standard sub. Could be one of the reasons yours dont sound that great. Also, if the box isnt already, go to walmart and buy one of the big boxes of the poly fill and stuff that sub box full of it. Should help it out a little bit.

i have 4 10s behind my seat. i ditched the little carpet fold down covers that go down with the back seats, cut the brackets off, trimmed the plastic trim below the rear window and built as big a box as i could. 4 is a bit overkill for the air space i have in the box, 3 would be perfect. 2 12s would be no issue

I dont have the build sheet handy but from what i remember it was 30" long, 11.5" tall, bottom was 6.5" deep and top was 5" deep or something like that. I will have to double check. Uses minimal wood to make it. I bought a 4'x8' sheet from lowes and had them cut it into 3 pieces 32" wide by 48" long. Only used 1 of the 32x48 pieces. The sheet of wood is $15.
