Gettin Too Old for This Shit

At the ripe old age of 22, Ive come to the realization that I no longer posses the stamina or quickness I did in HS. The plumber on my job site has been talking shit about how good he used to be and still is at football. So we decided that we would have a friendly two below football game us(general contractor) against them(the plumbers). Well the plumbers cheated and brought out a bunch of HS and College football players in stead of using people on their crew. We decided to play anyway and ended up winning but in the process on a kick return I went to make a cut and tag the guy with the ball, I went over one way and two guys that were blocking hit me another way. The result is either a broken ankle or an extremely bad sprain. So here I sit with my ankle proped up waiting to go to the ER and find out what it is. Ive had a sprained ankle before and this feels worse but Ive never had a broken ankle so I dont know what it is. Either way I guess I need to realize my days of balls to the wall sports is over.:( My joints have been beat to shit over the last 18 years of sports.

I FEEL FOR YA!! I'm 20 and wake up on rainy days and my body creeks cracks and groans in ways that you can't imagine coming from a 20 year old body. I guess the past 8 years or so of being invincible finally caught up with me. :(

Now I gotta be extra careful of just about everything I do. Especially at 6' 4" picking something up off the ground sucks for us big guys.

Yet all this pain still doesn't stop me from showing up the rest of the guys on my shift at a fire :D First one humping the hose up by myself and last one cooking in the attic waiting for ventilation every time. Gee wiz guys when am I gonna learn.:baby:

Where it is swelling up at I dont think it is a torn ligament. Its my left foot, outside where the ball of my ankle sticks out. If you are looking at that ball sticking out of my ankle the swelling is to the top left of it, about the size of a golf ball. Its red and blue and doesnt feel horrible when I just have it sitting still but when I try and walk on it normal non peg-leg style and bend it some to try and work it out it feels like someone is stabbing a needle into my ankle. It has popped a couple times too. Ive never had a broken ankle before so I dont know if it is or not just by my symptoms I just know it hurts worse then any other sprained ankle Ive had.

Hopefully it is just a bad sprain. Those seem to hurt more now than they used to. Been there done that as well..... It is worse when you hit 40. All the sports and crap I did when I was younger and very few injuries. Now, it seems like just doing some pushups hurt:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Bad thing is, I seem not to have fully learned yet. I'm currently taking classes at a local law enforcement academy on the weekends. This phase is the shooting and wrestling around (tactics) with the youngsters.....

Better stock up on Advil....

I've broken my left ankle three times and my right one twice and also sprained both of them a couple times, and i think that my sprains hurt more than the breaks. this is something that i know will catch up to me later cause they don't seem to be getting better with age. just the extra prizes i get for racing motocross since i was ten.

I believe it was a song by Pennywise called "Live Fast Die Young" Well, I've lived fast, but I'm still alive and no longer "young".

I've had everything from broken bones to a bruise that covered 1/3rd of my body. Can't wait till I'm 45 and I have to hire a "Juan" to tie my laces for me!! I know Simon can tell some stories as well. We ride pretty hard sometimes!!!

I'm 22, my biggest problem is my lower back. Years of lifting heavy crap, and my old job was standing in one spot hunched over for 12 hours a day. There are days when I can't even get out of bed, my back will be locked up, and crazy pain. I'm 5'11" and 235 lbs with high blood pressure. My new job involves alot more walking and physical activity, so I have been feeling a little better lately.

Me too man! Im 25, 6'2", 185-190ish, ...
Bad lower back, 2 buldged disks and scoliosis to make it better, wont ever heal. You know how a spine's curve should look from the side? Kinda an S bend, well i have that as normal but AND if you look at me from the front or back, should be straight! Its not, S-bend there too! On a diet of muscle relaxers, sleep aids, pain killers. I'm a BMW tech so workin on cars will hafta stop soon! Might as well throw this onto the fire aswell, colorblind, low blood-psi, chronic dehydration, asthma, anxiety problems. I need a refund! At least some coupons

:( Hope your ankle is doing better.

Thanks for the nice thought but its not:(

Went to the doctor this morning I broke the little bone in my leg, there is a big main one and a little one, dont know the technical name for it. They are going to do surgery and put a plate and screws in to make it heal right since the bones are so far apart.
