i cant get my stock torsion keys out they are rusted in good and tight. Ive tried an air hammer and sledge hammer and i still cant get them to budge. anyone got any suggestions? im scared to heat it because i donnt want to ruin a torsion bar

I had to unbolt the crossmember (actually dmaxfireman did) and beat the ever living crap out of it with a sledge with the truck as high as I could get it.

the last set i did i soaked for two nights with some PB, had a buddy hold one big ball peen while i smacked that one with a bigger sledge. Took about 4 smacks this way. Before i soaked and had help i beat for 2-3 hours with no luck.

As others have said, soak the crap out of them and make sure they're completely unloaded obviously. Then get a sledge and go to town. Soak in ATF and acetone 50/50 mix, PB, Kroil, something of the sort.

Kroil is awsome stuff. Whatever you use, be sure to use it on the key AND where the t-bar slides into the control arm.

I've used this stuff and nothing else has come close to getting rusty parts separated unless heat was involved. When I had to do ball joints on my Jeep the hub/spindles etc disassembly was a mother. After squirting the rust buster on the parts let it set for a few minutes and a couple hits with the hammer it came right apart.
