Gearshift lever r-n-r

Got the "no tow/haul" problem, so trying to repair the infamous orange wire. But run into a problem. How do you get this dang lever out? Looks like there's supposed to be a screw/bolt holding the lever in, but I'll be danged if I cant find a torx or screwdriver head on it. What am I missing here?

Also, if worse comes to worse, is the proper replacement lever part number 26093956?

i bet the head on the bolt broke off, same thing happened to my work truck

Not to high jack the thread but what is the problem with tow haul? Sometimes mine doesn't seem to want to illuminate the light on the dash and you got to push it a couple times. This has only happened about 3 times though

The filaments in the orange wire coming out of the shifter handle wear and then break, so tow haul stops working or only works sporatically.

Do the tap shifter upgrade While your there Tom! See if ya can get a couple vise grips on there

IIRC, you cant use a tap shifter on a 5 speed.

Finally found the time to deal with this again. I got the lever out and....tada....one wire was broken at the first clip from the lever, same as all the others ever reported.
Soldered in a small section of wire, taped it all up good, and reinstalled without the first clip. I now have tow-haul and OD lockout again. Check that off my list.
