Question: gear box

I have a 2001 2500 Hd, the stearing gear box is leaking, going to buy a new one , the question I have is it a 33 or 32 spline? 1GCHK29131E320082 is the vin if that helps or how can I tell?

My steering box was leaking and I put in Lucas stop leak,not even half the bottle. That was last year still No leak. I also changed the intermediate shaft and bearing. Try Lucas first

Keep your old one till you're absolutely sure the replacement is not a dud, lots of that goin on. If possible keep you're old and have it rebuilt. Not a fan of stop leaks but sometimes they do work.

I would try to fix it using a rebuild kit. Much cheaper than buying a new replacement.
