Gauge Cluster not reading oil pressure on '03 Dmax

Customer brought me his truck, oil pressure randomly drops to 0 and dings warning at you, then oil pressure comes right back. Kept doing it on and off intermittently.

Seen a repaired spot in low ref wire down near sensor, unplugged sensor to check it out and oil was coming from inside connector of the sensor itself, if I let truck run it would drip slowly, I replaced the sensor and repaired the wire someone had already repaired once. Now it has no oil pressure, checked continuity on the 3 wires from ecu pins to sensor pins, all good. Reconnected at ecm's and checked for 5 volts at the sensor connector, 5 volts was good. I can read engine oil pressure with EFILive in the ecu, and my schematic only says that gauge cluster is serial data. So I swapped a cluster from a wrecked '06 truck I parted out and no oil pressure on that cluster either...

Anyone seen anything like this or have any ideas???

Does coolant temp, fuel level, trans temp, etc all read correctly when you plug the 06 cluster in?

Not sure, truck wasn't all warmed up to verify the temps, they did appear to move off of zeros... My dad's truck is an '04 lb7, should I try his cluster in case there is an '06 difference?

06 cluster will work fine in any 03-07 truck.

Does the fuel level gauge work?

Yes, shows under 1/4 tank

I hooked up my Tech 2 and commanded a gauge sweep and all stepper motors were working. I fired up the truck and oil pressure gauge works fine, drove it around 2 different time for 5-10 minutes each time, still works great

Yes, worked Friday night when I drove it on 2 different occasions, worked Sunday morning when I drove it and the kid took it yesterday and it worked his hour trip home.

I repaired a damaged wire on the sending unit harness, even after that it wouldn't work and everything was ohming out fine and I had 5 volts at the sensor end of the wire.... Then I performed the gauge sweep with the Tech 2 and....it worked ever since???

I've had this happen when the batteries are run dead and a battery charger is used to bring them back up. Unhook the batteries, touch the positive and negative cables togetehr for 30 seconds with the key on, then hook it back up. Normally brings em back online. Had one truck where the guages swept fine and all of that with a scanner, but still wouldn't read out. Did the reset above and they all came back online. This one was weird because it was all of the guages.
