How many guys been having a problem with up pipe gaskets burning/blowing out like these? They have maybe a couple thousand miles and a few test runs and three dyno pulls on them.

I'd put a straight edge on both flanges.....you can obviously see the blow by on top of the gasket material....something isn't flat or wasn't tight.

Shane, did I send you some of the copper gaskets to try?

Are those both from the same up pipe?

Rick those are from each side. I fixed the passenger side drove it and then fixed the drivers side. No you did not send me any coppers to try. I thought about getting with you about them to try. The flanges look straight to me but maybe things are not as good as they seem. If it had not blow out there maybe I could tell if it were leaking between layers but not like it is now with certainty.

Guess that explains the smoke I seen coming out from under the hood on it on the 2nd and 3rd dyno pulls.

That is for certain. The waste gate line burst as well. Dyno guy was telling me that boost only hit forties and I said you sure you were looking st the right gauge? Maybe he was after this.

New gaskets on the way. If that doesn't do it then send everything back including the pedestal so I can check it over here.

Like we talked on the phone I think you might wanna get a drive pressure gauge on it. Since it blew the waste gate line too your drive pressure may be really high. If not at least we can rule that out.

Rick is a great guy. If everyone in the diesel industry was as good at customer service and care about his products performing and working properly we would be in heaven. Thanks Rick for your help.
