So we lost a piston on my stock internals, doing SoCal build and I'm really thinking that I want to set up now for a twin setup using my 4094, something like the setup on mcrat's that I saw in Diesel Power a couple of months ago. Does anyone have experience with this setup or possibly wheel time behind one, really interested to know about real world use/drivability, I want to use my 4094 but I'm not shure what the big charger should be, but I want to use a Garrett. Thanks

This not going to be what you want to hear but I would get rid of the lag pig 4094. I am not a fan of the GT40 series turbos at all. It does not say in your sig what generation truck you have. LB7/LLY/LBZ? If it is a LLY or LBZ a stock turbo with a GT4202 is a ton of fun. If you really want big twins a setup like Trentnell has would work great but those are Borg Warner turbos. You could use and HTT S300 and a GT45 Pricey? Or maybe even a GT47. Again pricey.

X2 a S300 is a great turbo. I agree on ditching the GT40

When I was going to do that I was goingto use a gt4718 and gate the 4094

That's what I was thinking, with some ideas from Guy. I would rather work with what I already have, if it makes sense. Why the oposition to the GT40? I've driven the truck with the GT40 for a while and I don't think it is laggy, but I am also used to 12V cummins with a large single

The HTT 66MM S300 will spool noticably quicker than th GT40 and it will make just as much power. I have messed with both and can without a doubt say I would not use the GT40. I really like Garrett turbos. I am running one now. I just do not care for the spool up of the GT40 turbine wheel.

I know of more than one person that ditched the GT40 for a HTT and was very pleased. Dont take my word for it ask 05_LLY. I bet I know what he says.:cool2:

Thanks for all the advice and experience, it seems that the choice would be easier if I didn't already own the 4094, that being said what about the larger charger, not to many twinned duramaxs around here that I have watched run, but have seen a couple cummins that took forever to light the turbos, I know, not the same at all and I don't know what they were running, I do know that I mostly sled pull and sometimes go to the track, but still want to be able to street drive it,

new mods from socal

Carrillo Rods
coated pistons
lowering compression for twins?
stage one heads
60% injectors
cam
big head studs
bearings and all

all mods from Guy, I don't want to play engine builder

I had the 4094, didnt like it it was AS john said " a lag pig" im sure it was worse on a stick truck though, I just put my old 40 on a auto truck and put a htt 66/71/14 on another almost identical truck, both tuned as equal as i could get them, other then the 3600 rpm shift points on the 4094 truck, In a 45+mph roll race, the 40 would out pull the 66 by almost a truck length by 100 mph, but from an unboosted dead stop go the 66 would put almost 2 trucks on the 40'd truck by 80 mph. Dead stop to 80mph the 66 was about 150/200* cooler as well with the gate set @ 38 psi.

On my truck and the current truck the 40 would never make more then 36 psi of boost, with my tuning, with ppes tuning, with a few other guys tuning, with dual fuelers and with out. On my truck With my tuning and dual fuelers it made 573hp, with ppes tuning and dual fuelers it made 562. My truck will have a htt on it the next time it fires up!

Just my own experiences!

not sure but most pulls here will not let you pull with twins

Most of the pulls up here are free for all, with one diesel class to cover all trucks, rumored for next year is loosely classing and twinned trucks that didn't come with them from the factory(ford) will be in a mod diesel class. It would really suck to get twins setup only to have a rule change and not be able to pull.
