I have a 2006 Chevy Silverado 3500 4WD Chassis 6.6 L Duramax diesel. 360 HP, 650 LB-FT Torque. Need help with removal/installation instructions for Garrett Turbo P/N:8980033661. Have a hard time removing up-pipe bolts (12 point).

Moved to LBZ section.

I seem to remember that most people go thru the pass side wheel well, too.

I use a ratcheting wrench like posted above and either sprawl out over the engine and go from above/the side or go up through the wheel well on passenger side
Thanks. Used a ratcheting wrench and tied it to a ratchet strap to loosen bolts.

Success. Thanks to the four members that replied to my post. It took me a few months to replace the turbo because I was only able to work on it during the weekends. Also, bought different sets of tools to include "S shaped" wrenches. With Zero mechanical knowledge and this blog, I was able to replace Turbo (on my own) and Diesel Duramax is running like a Champ!!

Just an FYI, you can quote more than one post at a time.

Like above, I use either a low profile ratchet or a long 12pt wrench. It can be a pain in the ass but heat (oxy torch) is by far the best thing/help when removing them.

Absolute easiest way is through the passenger fender well, removing the tire makes it a little nicer for room but don’t have to. LONG 1/2 ratchet as it provides more leverage to break bolts loose than a breaker bar and some muscle.
