It's a 4094 compressor wheel (same as 68mm Cheetah) with a revamped exhaust side. "High-Flow vanes and wheel" according to PPE. From what I have heard so far it sounds like it is about even with the 64mm baby Cheetah, which makes it good for towing, daily driving, and the occasional pull or track pass. I hope Garret comes out with a bigger VVT for more competitive use.

For competitive guys like yourself I think the 68mm Cheetah will suit you better, can be pushed harder, and will get you more power (would say 71.5 but Brayden said it needs a bit more fuel than single stock CP3). I have towed a heavy trailer with another DMax on it with no problems (and actually much lower than stock turbo EGTs). I think that the right tuning could put a single stock CP3 LBZ into the 11s with a 68mm Cheetah. Hell I might get my LLY in the 11s with this setup with some more tuning, but I think it's gonna take some more fuel pressure.

But it is also built on a 37 series turbine - much like the LB7 GT37 upgrade that most people say is a waste of time.

Sorry but you would incorrect in your thinking on this. The turbine is the same size as the stock LLy but has more flow capacity because it is a 10 fin design much like the 4088r/4094r except that is much thicker so it will take the abuse better. This is one of the main reasons that I use the stock LLy turbines in 98% of the chargers that I build becuase they don't fail like the other turbines do. The Compressor side of it is completely different than any other one that is available todate. It has a new cover and has a GT4094R wheel that has been trimmed down to 65mm inducer instead of the 66.7ish that the 4094r has. We need to test one of these and see how it actually stacks up Brayden's offerings and mine as well. I have had great success with my setups and so has Brayden. I personally love the LB7 PowerMax Charger kit and have had great success with my versions of it. Gainer has pulled with his for two years now and drives it everyday and it makes great power for it's size. It of coarse is not the way it comes in the box but it is a great starting point for someone with a stock motor that doesn't want to have to stud the motor and I am pretty sure that I did a good job of proving it. This is all of coarse just my personal opinions on the matter.

I'm bo no means the expert on turbos - I was just going off the way Garrett normally names their turbos. Thanks for the clarification and the additional details on what this turbo really is. I'd like to see a well designed 2.8 AVNT turbo from Garrett in the future. IMO you can't beat a high performance variable turbo - all the streetability of a stock charger with the performance of a big charger. I'm glad we have a few players in the game too - keeps the others going on R&D, and keeps the prices in check.

I couldn't agree with you more on this one!:D Maybe even a 3.0"+ version as well... These chargers have their place and the end user just has to figure out which is the best one for their application.

I dont know about you guys but on the LB7 motors I am a big fan of the 40 series. with the correct tunning they spool up great and have great tow manors.

I agree that the 40 series have very good manners - they spool and tow nicely on any Duramax with the right tuning. I'm just partial to the VVT and really like the performance and streetability that I have been getting out of the Cheetah and would like to see more (and even bigger) VVT options.
