I'm trying to install a DSP 2 switch. I have the switch installed. In efi live the full flash icon will not illuminate so I can change operating systems. The middle red arrow is lit up and I can flash the PCM with that but not the full flash icon it I'd greyed out HELP.

The tune is in the v8 icon but I was trying to flash in v7.5. Should I be flashing in V8?

Thanks mike diesel. Using v8 worked. I obviously have been out of the game for awhile. Lol

You have to connect the V2 to the truck 1st, then to your laptop, then open the V7 software in order to do a full flash. I just did a full flash the other night using V7 with the latest update because the V8 tool doesn't full flash the AL5 it said, so I know even the latest software still allows full flashes.

For some reason I have to do it the complete opposite way. I get the same problem the OP has using V7 if I connect the V2 to the truck first.

I had an AL5 yesterday that absolutely did not want to flash. I have cal flashed and full flashed my own probably 60 times with not even the slightest issue.

This truck yesterday didn't even want to read. I had to un check the high speed setting for it to even do anything. It passed all the test flashes just fine. Go to actually flash it amd it gets 99.9% through and craps out leaving the tcm in an unknown state with no gears other than reverse and 3rd. Had to use v7.5 to even find the tcm and to cal flash it. V8 did nothing. After about 2 hours of messing with it I finally got it to take the stock tune and all was good...was sweating bullets for a bit.

I've had this happen before. unplugging the bcm always corrected it for me. I have 1 tcm that i had to start the truck, drive it for 5 minutes, then shut it off and immediately flash it for the tune to take.

I will keep this in mind. I was too scared to try to flash it again after the stock tune took.

I have an 01 - lb7 Allison. I lost the TCM communication on a 400 mile drive home. Came home in limp mode. I have EFI Live V2 and a stand alone cable. was able to boot read the TCM with a stand alone harness. So off I went - replaced ignition wiring and rung everything out. put in original TCM -no communication. Go back to stand alone - no communication. By this time, I've picked up TCM controller #2 & #3. All TCM's are same model number / base number 29537441 - service number 15768288
All TCM housings identical but different manufacture dates 2000 thru 2001 - mine mid year 2001
So I put in TCM#3 - program my VIN into it - all functions come back but rough shifting - try to reflash #3 - says cannot reflash because of base operating program / bios not compatible.
So I put in #2 that has a manufacture date close to mine - VIN already programmed. - same problem on full TCM flash
Any thoughts?
Is there a way to do a complete reflash using EFILive V2 flashscan that I'm missing?
Or should i give up and take to a stealership?
