As most of you know I have been having some problems lately with getting An 0087 code and its been happening easier, I just get on it for a little bit and bang the check engine light comes on with the 0087 code. When it first happened I was racing a dodge and we got up to at least 120 and I then it came on when I let off. I went down a power level and it hasnt done it since. I was told to get a lift pump wich is in progress and I was also told to shim my fuel release valve. My question is I bought a race fuel valve from PPE and I was told that it is only for hot tunes like 350 and up or it will cause damage to my fuel rail and cp3 is this true or not I just bought because I thought it was better than shimming mine because it acts like it might be f@#ked any how let me know what I should do ( thanks)

lift pump cured my p0087 codes on my 06 lbz. I didnt want to mess with the fuel rail because I heard it was a real bear to break loose and do the shim kit. as far as damage. someone else would have to chime on on that one

I would do the shim over the valve. basicly with the race valve in your rail canot relive presure so in theroy it could spike past 30,000 psi wich could cause a failure to the rail or damage the cp3 with the shims in you still have a working fprv and can still relive presure the shims just make it do it at a higher presure

One More Question

Do you think My valve is bad and could be causing the code to kick on easier because like I said before, the first time it happened it took alot to kick it on I mean that was the most I've ever gotton on the truck and now If I accelerate up the on ramp to get on the interstate it comes on . That leads me to believe I need something else before the lift pump but I dont know what.
