PPE's pump works well, is fairly cheap, but is noisy and has no filters.
When my PPE dies, I think I am going to get something with a filter.
Something to consider on a DD is depending on the pump you use, you may want to plumb in a bypass in case the pump dies while you are on the road. Some pumps will not allow the engine to run with the pump off. My PPE will let the engine go to about 2000 RPM or so before it falls on its nose if the pump is not running. I have heard that this varies with the PPE pumps, some will flow through and some will not.
