I have a 2005 lly with a few things done to it (5" exhaust, 3" downpipe, s&b intake, egr delete, pro fab economy flow intake tube, duramax tuner spade series efi live, fass titanium 150) and Ive dont it all myself. Now Ive gotten to the fprv, I just took off the stock fuel filter assembly yesterday and looped the fuel lines and figured Id go ahead and tackle the fprv. That being said after taking the glow plug module off I fought with my fprv for a good hour with wrenches, ratchets, and even the 3/8 breaker bar and 18mm 6pt socket i bought. No matter how hard i tried that sucker wont budge! Id rather not take the entire rail out to get it off but does anyone know any other way I can try to get that thing out? I have a plug for it and would like to get it in to see of it helps with fuel pressure at higher rpms but gotta get it off first

It's extremely tight. Keep trying. Or take the rail off like you mentioned.

I feel like if i had enough room to use a cheater bar of some sort i could get it there just isnt enough room for hardly anything between the back side of the rail and the firewall

I would bottle test it to see if its even opening first. No need to replace if fuel is not going by it. I have seen to many rail plugs leak and cause issue.

Put some MAN on it. Extractor sockets will bit down on it, or use a ratchet strap on the wrench to something solid and do it that way.
