So I have a cab & chassis shop truck at work, drove it one day last week and it threw a p1093 code. Truck quit running and would not start. Changed the fuel filter, also replaced the transfer pump that pumps fuel from one tank to the other. I can get it running on starting fluid but if you shut it off, it will not start again. Seems like it also has some sort of knocking sound now and when you drive it, you get a lot of smoke. Truck is stock, 160k miles. Was thinking about throwing a race plug in it but not sure that's the fix.. Could the cp3 have taken a shit or what should I look for guys?

I had this happen on a lly before. It was the injectors. It wouldn't build enough rail pressure to start. If you have it alittle sniff it would start but run horrible and smoke. Hopefully you disconnected the glow plugs before you used ether.

Definitely have your buddy swing by and hook up scan tool. Need to see what kind of fuel pressure you’re building vs desired.
