Where is the best place to tap in to measure fuel pressure? I thought you would want to do it at the rail but the guy who did my gauges is saying i should do it at the lift pump(LP isnt installed yet but the gauge is). He is saying that you want to do it at the lift pump because if you do it after the cp3 you wont know what failed the LP or the CP3. i was thinking the gauge would be better to make my pressure isnt falling to much with a big tune like im running now (160 but once i have the LP i want to run 225). is there any info you guys can link me to on fuel pressure so i can figure out the best thing? thanks

I doubt you have a gauge that reads high enough to measure rail pressure. Put the sending unit somewhere between the filter and the CP3 and you'll be good.

2 different things to measure - PSI before the CP3 and PSI afer the CP3.

You are looking 10-12 PSI before the CP3, up to 30,000 PSI after the CP3.

PPE makes a Rail Pressure gauge if interested, or any low pressure gauge will work for lift pump PSI.

Contact me if you are interested in the PPE RP gauge. Thanks!

ISSPRO also makes a rail pressure gauge. To read lift pump pressure I recommend and install 30 PSI gauges, no reason for a 100 PSI gauge. I prefer to run electric and install the sender into the test port by the alternator, after removing the valve. IMO a rail pressure gauge doesn't do much for you - without knowing what desired rail pressure is actual rail pressure doesn't tell you much of anything. Logging with EFI Live or having a passenger watch desired vs actual on your PPE handheld will tell you much more than a single gauge.

I think most people have an idea about what the rail pressure should run at WOT. It's pretty easy to see if you're dropping down too low. That's where I see a rail pressure gauge as helpful, but for the most part, I agree. I'd rather log it and see what it did. I have a hard enough time watching boost and EGT gauges.

to make the sending unit to fit in th valve next to the alternator, what part is needed for the junction of the sending unit to the valve. My sending unit is to large for the valve.

Can you not just pull the hose off behind the fitting and use a barb nipple and clamp X NPT?

I know there is numerous posts on this subject and even a few pics
try searching und Larry Jewel & fuel pressure:)
