Does anyone know a better place to tie in to the inlet fuel line from the lift-pump, other than the bleeder screw on the factory fuel filter. I don't know what thread type those are or i'd put it there. My lift-pump and gauge will be here today and i'd like to install this weekend.:D

Thanks
Joey

Here is where I took mine you just unscrew that factory black cap and valve stem looking thing and take that down to the hardware store and fine the adapters you need. I forget what it was like a 3/8 compression maybe, you should have choices in compression threads, NPT, Flange... there was like three fine the best fitting one... It may not have been exact but is was so close you couldn't really tell I put some tape on it tightened it up and have see a drop of fuel leak off of it yet.. It is right at the same point the CP3 is fed so it's a good reading for pressure to the pump.
Good Luck,
Jon

Thanks Jon: Can i still run a mechanical gauge at this spot? I dont see why not. I've got some left over 1/8 braded line i'd just have to run over the engine to the extension that goes in the truck.

You can run a mechanical and get whatever type of adapter you may need. I just don't know how comfortable I feel about running fuel into the cab granted it's not very much pressure but it could very messy.. That's the only reason I spent the extra money for electric. Expensive truck.. not worth a fuel leak in the cab..
Good Luck,
Jon

Man after seeing Jon's set up I screwed up buying the mechanical gauge! Just opened packadge, ( Must have Isolator LEVEL!! with Gauge ) WTF. Should I send it back and get Elec. or just install the gauge in that square compartment on the right side of the radio?? Seems best place to keep Isolator straight????

Plan B: Screw the Isolator and run the line straight to it!!:D
Come -On - Ladeeeez:D and gentelmen's " IDEAS"

i could of plugged my sensor in to the filter but i had extra hose left over from my turbo so i used it to create the bling effect

pic 34 behind the resonator to the right is the electrical sender

pic 30 is my mess i have a 2" hole in my firewall and i still have more wires to go

pic 33 is my turbo and fuel hoses

Called summit and have an Electric Gauge coming. Screw the Mech Gauge! Tooo much Drama!! Another question though. Has anybody tried to Flare the stock Fuel line?? I wanna try that and put a coupler and Female #10NPT nut on the SS Factory line and tie the ouitlet side of the Lift-pump to that line. I know it sounds confusing and SS line is very hard to flare, but it would make for a nice set up!!

Well you can get a 8an fitting with a 1/2" compressiong fitting, then use different addapters to get to where you are going. The only reason I say 8an to start with is that those fittings are the same size as your stock fuel line. That is how I had my old lift pumps installed worked good, just be sure you put the compression somewhere you can hold it when you tighten it up.
Good luck once again..
Jon
Wise choice going with electric..
Or, just go all out and get the big pick up that trippin sells or any of the other venders and put the elbow at the top of the tank and run 5/8 Line to your lift pumps and then tie into the factory line further up the frame rail. Many options, depending on the amount of $$ spent, time and craftsmanship how things will turn out.

I did spend the money on the pick up. It's all sitting in front of me. Just want to make a nice Dependable set up. Just was wondering if anyone had tried to flare the stock fuel line? A nice 8-AN Female coupling and nut would look nice as it's tying in w/ the outlet side of the Lift-pump.( As Jon Said) Better than a 3/4 Hose Clamp. Just ideas on my part!! You guy's are the experts.

Just wanted to say thanks to everybody for all the input on this matter !!! Just got home from Ace and found a 1/2" compression fitting with a 10 an male end that will work great tying back into the factory line after the lift-pump.. I'll post picks when complete.

Thanks Guy's

How many old posts of mine are you going to dig up?

With a lb7 you can pull the hose off before the sheafer valve its a aprox 1/4" ( metric) hose behind it.

A barbed fitting will fit right on to it:)

I used a 10mm x #4 jic on my filter housing and it ended up craking the housing from vibrations on the fuel line( many miles later ).......I doubt that would happen to anyone else though...Just my luck:rolleyes::D
